A Vision Of America We Can All Share

Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Dear ASWUU Family and Friends,

Mal has been a teacher for 50 years— in the public schools; in prisons, and for the last 37 years at Coker University.

Additionally, he’s worked for human rights in Central America, the West Bank and Gaza and with the United Nations, monitoring the elections in Nicaragua in 1990 and in Mexico in 1994. Over the years he’s served on numerous local boards including the homeless shelter, the Disabilities Board, Christmas in April (low-income housing), as well as the South Carolina Democratic Party. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Darlington County Community Action Agency and is the author of the book  Burying the Lead: The Media and the JFK Assassination, which shows his desire to speak to truth

Mal lives in Hartsville and is the proud father of two daughters, Geneva and Nicole.  Geneva, who directs the youth ministry at her church, is married to Dr. Luke Baxley.  They live in Beaufort, SC with their son Davis, and daughter Kate.  His youngest daughter, Nicole, a college counselor, is married to Zach Miller, an aeronautical engineer. They live in Colorado.
