The Power of Positive Thinking, Part 2

Sunday, December 14, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Dear ASWUU Family and Friends,

Please join us this Sunday at 11 a.m., in-person or online, as we dive deeper into “The Power of Positive Thinking” (PMA) with part 2 of a series focusing on how cultivating an optimistic disposition in every situation in one's life yields positive changes and increases achievement. Positive mental attitude is the practice of finding greater joy in small joys, living without hesitation, and leaning into our most cherished personal virtues and values. People who engage in positive self-talk and become aware of their internal dialogues tend to exhibit greater self-control and resilience, and developing PMA by proactively approaching personal and organizational challenges makes people into better leaders.

Pamela Baxter has been a lay minister with Unitarian Universalist congregations in Salem, Oregon and here in the Grand Strand for more than 15 years. She is a former children’s religious education instructor and former President of the Board here at All Souls Waccamaw. A graduate from Coastal Carolina University, she has been very active within the LGBT community with Grand Strand Pride, OutMyrtle Beach, and PFLAG. She previously served on the board of the Human Rights Commission of the City of Myrtle Beach. Pamela is a storyteller, a comedian, and a great hugger. We welcome her back to our pulpit again this Sunday.

There will be a Coffee Hour after the service. If you would like to do so, please bring a snack to share.  The service will be available on Facebook Live for those who prefer not to gather in person. Go to the ASWUU Facebook page and click the Live link.

Spread the word & bring a friend! Do you have a friend, family member, or colleagues who might appreciate this Sunday’s topic?
